Get Directions, Print a Map

If you're going on a trip and you need directions, try an online map. You get a map of the area and also directions to where you're going.

Usually when you take a trip you need a map to find where you're going.If it's a long trip you may need several maps. How do you decide on the most efficient route? A paper map can't tell you the best way to get where you're going.

Online maps can. They not only draw you a map, they also plot out the best route for you. With step-by-step directions from your front door to your journey's end in the most efficient way. The online map will even highlight your route on the online map so you can follow it all the way.

Getting Directions

First, choose which online map you want to use (listed below).
If you don't already see a place for you to add addresses, find the link that says "Get Directions".
Enter the address or name of the town you are coming from, or where you want your directions to start.
Then enter the address or name of the town you want to go to, or where you want the directions to end.
Click the button that says "Get Directions".
You'll now see a map with a line drawn on it showing you the way. You'll also see written, step by step directions that you can follow to get to where you're going. The directions will also tell you how many miles it is to your destination and approximately how long it should take you to get there.

Print Out Your Map

You may want to print out your directions so you can take them with you on your trip. Before you start printing your map, make sure you have the map exactly where you want it. The map can be moved around by either clicking on the arrows in the corner of the page or by clicking and dragging your mouse curser on the map.

Somewhere on the page you will find a link that says "Print". Click on it and your maps and directions will start printing.

Other Things You Can Do With Online Maps

Look around where you live to find roads you've never been on and places you didn't know existed near you.
Find alternate routes to work or school.
Search the map for roads and places you can't find.
Zoom in to see more detail.
Zoom out to see how the terrain looks.
See where that creek that goes near your house goes.
